Bap Notes

Some stills from a session with The Bap Notes at “Live on Broadway” on 19th/Broadway in Sacramento. Chill vibes, shades of blue, touch of soul, and a whole lotta Bap. Thanks to my man Rod Nice for inviting me out.

Fiesta en la Calle 2016

Events, Music, Sacramento

This might have been the hottest day of the season, until last weekend. I can just feel my sunburn coming back now.

This was from the Fiesta en la Calle show at Southside Park in Sacramento. Los De Abajo, Solsa, Tierra performed along with a couple other surprises to celebrate our Latin community.

Speakeasy Stylings

Events, Music, Sacramento

We come from a musical family so when there’s good music in the air we come out in flocks of 20. Lately we’ve been gathering at Gracianos Pizza/Speakeasy in Old Sacramento to check out Ashwut Rodriguez curate an assortment of talented musicians. While you’re picking the olives off of your pizza, you might catch Ashwut playing guitar solos with his teeth. Real talk. As an added bonus we get to watch my little sister who we can honestly say is a world class singer due to the many countries she’s been able to perform in alongside Ashwut. (Shameless plug)

So if you’re free every first or third Friday from 530- 830 stop by catch a slice, or zone out to some of your new favorite songs. You never know who’s going to sit in!

Still Gurpin- Recap

Events, Music, Woodland

A couple weeks ago the Gurp City Affiliates Big Sammy, Eddie K along with Block Burners and Jake Uno made a pit stop at the infamous Stag Bar in Woodland CA. I was especially excited because BS was showing off a couple tracks from the Refrigerator Perry EP that we’ve been working on for the last couple years. This was the first time that ive head the tracks on a PA system. As expected between the bass rumbling and people dancing, there was probably the equivalent of a 6 pack of beer spilled on the dance floor, it happens.

The big man thoroughly did his job to the extent that he ended his set with a mic drop while he playing Brotha Lynch Hung’s “Refuse to Lose”.

And on that note….. (mic dropped)

LIVE @ The Stag Bar FRIDAY MAY 15TH 2015

I’m charging all my batteries and getting my bag ready to document this event. My homie Big Sammy and I have been working on his newest projected titled “Refrigerator Perry” for some time now. Its been in the slow cooker so by now its extra juicy, fall off the bone status. The EP features production by EC and yours truly.

Fellas make sure you iron your clothes, get your fade cleaned up and get hype. Ladies get your lip liners and sharpies ready so you can look extra fly for the pix.

Just make sure to hold onto your beverages because i guarantee you the beats will be rattling you across the dance floor.

Conjunto Liberacion

Events, Music

What better way to enjoy a tuesday evening, better yet a Taco Tuesday, even better, Cinco de Mayo but with $1 tacos, cold beers and live salsa music provided by Conjunto Liberacion at Maria’s Cantina in the Wood. The classic salsa compositions had me shooting for a vintage look, hopefully it translates.
