Congratulations to Nancy and Eugene who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby boy Mariano. The whole family came out for a Sunday afternoon session while we played oldies and hid from the sun at the UCD Arboretum. Initially we did a few warmup shots and slowly worked our way through the trees, but then we ran into this patch of greenery with a single beam of light coming through as if it was staged for us. This ended being my new favorite work!
Bottom of the 9th and runners on 3rd. That’s how it must feel for Dominic and Donovan Chavarria with Graduation right around the corner. What’s awesome is they’re not only twins, they’re teammates! On June 10th 2016, their family and friends will be on their feet while they bolt down the third base line and across the stage at PHS Stadium.
Hats off you you guys!
We come from a musical family so when there’s good music in the air we come out in flocks of 20. Lately we’ve been gathering at Gracianos Pizza/Speakeasy in Old Sacramento to check out Ashwut Rodriguez curate an assortment of talented musicians. While you’re picking the olives off of your pizza, you might catch Ashwut playing guitar solos with his teeth. Real talk. As an added bonus we get to watch my little sister who we can honestly say is a world class singer due to the many countries she’s been able to perform in alongside Ashwut. (Shameless plug)
So if you’re free every first or third Friday from 530- 830 stop by catch a slice, or zone out to some of your new favorite songs. You never know who’s going to sit in!

Taking photos, I have the unique opportunity to be with people at exactly the moment where everything changes for them. It’s exciting to hear of all the opportunity knocking at their doors and they get to decide which one to walk through. Hats off to Alina for all her hard work! She’s heading to UC Santa Cruz in the fall. Here’s to many new adventures!
Go Banana Slugs!

When then weather changes and it starts getting humid around 12 pm, that means there’s lots of anxious and excited High School Seniors waiting for that last bell to ring in the beginning of June. Lots of big changes are on the horizon for them and though High School affords them the opportunity to open their minds, it really teaches them about how to network. The chapters after high school begin to define who these seniors will be. Initially I would’ve liked a Do-Over for my school days but i realize that its everything that came after that changed everything. Being in the position to take these Senior pictures is so interesting to me. Its really a beginning of a story for each one. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be invited into that for my cousin Danny. Hes got big plans and definitely a leg up on most people because hes starting off with a direction.I was too busy trying to simply Graduate let alone figure out what i was going to do next. (Speaking of which, Thank you Mrs Murphy I know I didn’t deserve to graduate. You definitely did me a solid.)
Congrats in advance to you cousin, and to all the HS seniors!
A couple weeks ago the Gurp City Affiliates Big Sammy, Eddie K along with Block Burners and Jake Uno made a pit stop at the infamous Stag Bar in Woodland CA. I was especially excited because BS was showing off a couple tracks from the Refrigerator Perry EP that we’ve been working on for the last couple years. This was the first time that ive head the tracks on a PA system. As expected between the bass rumbling and people dancing, there was probably the equivalent of a 6 pack of beer spilled on the dance floor, it happens.
The big man thoroughly did his job to the extent that he ended his set with a mic drop while he playing Brotha Lynch Hung’s “Refuse to Lose”.
And on that note….. (mic dropped)
